New Keepers Of The Water Towers/The Cosmic Child/Listenable Records/2013 CD Review

New  Keepers  Of  The  Water  Towers  are  a  band  from  Sweden  that  plays  a  very  traditional  form  of  doom  metal  with  stoner  rock  elements  and  this  is  a  review  of t heir  2013  album  "The  Cosmic  Child"  which  was  released  by  Listenable  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  drumming  with  no  fast  playing  or  blast  beats  being  present on  this  recording,  while  the  bass  playing has  a  very  strong  and  powerful  sound  with  heavy  riffing  that  dominates  throughout  the  recording,  as  for  the  synths  and  sound  effects  when t hey  are  utilized  bring  psychedelic  elements  to  the  album.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  traditional  doom  metal  riffs  that  combine  elements  of  stoner  rock  in  the  riffing  as  well  as  some  clean  playing,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  dark  and  melodic  sounding  traditional  doom  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads,  as  for  the  acoustic  guitars  when  they  are  utilized  use  finger  picking  and  full  chords  to  bring  progressive  elements  to  the  recording.

Vocals  are  all  clean  singing  doom  metal  vocals,  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy,  dark  and  professional sound  where  you  can  hear  all  of t he  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  recording  along  with  some  of  the  songs  being  long  and  epic  in  length.

In  my  opinion  New  Keepers  of  The  Water  Towers  are  a  very  great  sounding  hybrid  of  traditional  doom  metal  and  stoner  rock  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of t his  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out t his  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Visions  Of  Death"  and  "The  Cosmic  Child".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
